Due to the removal of USS, we plan to make camera-based blind spot monitoring.

Thanks for your request. As many of you have noted, Tesla is removing USS, therefore we'll look into this update and work on camera-based blind spot monitoring.

Camera based would be more universally applicable

Just show it when blinker are not on would be a good start.

I think it would be distracting if something lights up in front of you when there is car next to you. It would turn on way too often. There is a reason why normal blind spot monitors are on the side mirrors out of frontal view. No thanks on extra distractions that are not actionable.

KJ: How about a small yellow circle each side of the "PRND", maybe half the size of the letters (I use the "low vision speedo screen). I really miss the yellow indicators on the side of the mirrors in my last car (BMW). I think the blind spot detection was only active over 50kph, so they were dim yellow by default all the time so you knew the system was active but became brighter yellow when it detected a car (if you were travelling faster than 50kph). I think something like that would be discrete but still provide the necessary information when you are looking for it.

A better blind spot warning would be helpful. Just having it show up when turn signals are on is not sufficient.
I don’t think USS will work though. Radar might. But the camera system detects nearby vehicles as evidenced by the center display. So the car knows when other cars are near, I’d like to see something on the Teslogic screen for sure.

This is not too useful for the cars being delivered now with no USS

Richard Strange: Agree, not worth to spend effort on it because now cars don't have USS and soon the ones that have it wont use it.
